Library Equipment and Technology

A guide to the library's equipment and circulating technology.

Borrowing Equipment

The following equipment is available for checkout from Prescott Memorial Library:

  • Chromebooks
  • MacBooks
  • iPads
  • webcams

Equipment Borrowing Policy

  • Users may only check out one device at a time.
  • Users may not check out a device for someone else to use.
  • Students may borrow devices for six weeks. They may renew the loan once, but only at the discretion of Circulation staff.
  • Faculty and staff may borrow devices for the quarter. They may renew their loans once.
  • The late fee for overdue equipment is $10 per day.
  • After 30 days of being overdue, equipment is considered lost and the user will be liable for the replacement cost for the item, as well as potential processing fees.
  • The replacement cost for lost or damaged equipment (including chargers, bags, etc.) is up to $1650. Fees for overdue, stolen, or lost equipment will be billed to the user responsible. Failure to pay these fines will result in a hold being placed on the user's account.

Checkout Requirements

  • Equipment checkouts are restricted to students who are actively enrolled in classes, as well as faculty and staff members who are actively employed by the university.
  • Users must have an account in good standing with the Library (no overdue or lost items, no current fines, etc.).
  • Each user is required to read and sign an Equipment Borrowing Agreement. The agreement will be kept on file for up to one year.
  • Users must present their physical Tech ID when checking out a device.
